Topics on Microdosimetry in Ion-Beam Therapy

This work aims to compile both procedural and experimental advancements that define microdosimetry within the framework of ion beam therapy. To accomplish this, we are collecting the latest research findings and subjecting them to rigorous critical analysis. The project follows a step-by-step approach designed to accommodate a wide spectrum of ideas. On each specific topic, we present diverse—and sometimes contrasting—viewpoints. To keep discussions focused, the content is organized into distinct chapters, each intended to function as a stand-alone piece. These chapters are envisioned as evolving documents, progressively shaped by contributions and feedback from the wider community.

Input may be submitted in written form by participants, and where feasible, expanded upon during live debates. These discussions are followed by revisions to the chapters, which may lead either to a unified consensus or to a clear delineation of differing perspectives. Depending on the nature of the topic and the contributors' preferences, debates can unfold spontaneously or follow a structured format, with distinct groups presenting opposing viewpoints. If needed, a moderator may facilitate the exchange.

The creation of this is the webpage was discussed during the workshop Microdosimetry for beginners (MedAustron, 9-10 October 2019). Its scope is to promote the sharing of documents, publications, data, and ideas which could be helpful and instrumental for the advance of microdosimetry in ion-beam therapy.

The contributors to this webpage are the participants to the workshop and all the researchers who express interest in the subject and would like to participate actively. At the moment, the access to this webpage it restricted so only people with (shared) username and password can read it. If you share the access code with other persons interested to the subject, please inform the webpage administrator to keep track of it.

If you like to provide topics and material to be shared with the group, please contact the administrator to request the access with additional editing privileges.
